To date, there are 1.6 to 2.8 million homeless young people in America with 40% identifying as LGBTQ.

To encourage widespread awareness, The OUTMUSIC Foundation launched a community call to action with the ‘Sponsor A Young Person initiative Public Service Announcement. All proceeds from this initiative support our community driven outreach media program and other small programs and organizations that serve homeless and at risk youth.

As advocates of this program, advocates and celebrities such as Melissa Etheridge, Bishop Jean Robinson, Chely Wright, Tammy Peay, Yetta Kurland and Carol Channing appeared in the PSA.

Through the national recognition of the OUTMUSIC Foundation and OUTMUSIC Awards a national platform has been created in partnership with media sponsors to reduce the epidemic of homeless young people in America.
